“Dress The Way You Want to Be Addressed” Have You Heard of This?

Can We First Dive into “Dress code” in particular?

Well, I don’t think there is a specific way to define “Dress Code“…. But how about we just talk about it? Well, according to my basic understanding, the primary reason as to why we dress up is to cover our “Nakedness“.
But as you and I know, it goes beyond covering nakedness to many more reasons including culture, fashion, expression, religion, name it. And today I want us to take it down to an individual level!! I want us to look at dress code at a personal level….
LET’S GO INTO IT!!

“Different Occasions Call for Different styles / Dress Code” Let’s First Get into This….
Is it:
Work
School
Leisure
Party
“Function”
??
As it is, different occasions always call for different styles or dress code. And different individuals dress differently according to their personality. And that’s what I want us to talk about now!! The “Dress Code / Style” that comes in as individuality….

What Does “Dress Code” Mean to You???? or Rather What is it To You?
Well, I believe that everyone under the sun has a way of expressing themselves through fashion or dress code or style! To add to this, some people take their dress code serious while others take it lightly. This depends on several factors like background, religion, personality and sometimes character. But as we all know, factors can change at any point in time and therefore our fashion tastes are bond to change as well according to certain shifts.
How about We First Talk About How Different People Take Their Dress Codes….

The “Fashion Extremist(s)”
The people who push the boundaries of style and fashion, often in a way that is considered unconventional or even shocking! Those that go as far as breaking or bending the fashion rules, experimenting with unusual combinations or adopting styles that are deliberately provocative or unattractive. These individuals embrace styles that are far outside the mainstream.
But Why Such Styles???
Well, some chose this innocently due to their personalities while others chose it just to make attention-grabbing statements through their clothing choices. You have probably seen them somewhere, haven’t you? Let’s not go into how society perceives such individuals though we know it always ends in misconception for many. Well, I believe it’s a way of style and society has no choice but to make peace with it.

The “Fashion Killers
The Fashion Stars that have an exceptional sense of style and consistently dress in a way that is both stylish and impactful, often commanding attention and admiration. The eye-catching individuals that cause heads to turn due to their choices that command attention. Their confidence is always at the peak and the respect they command around them is top notch!! it is undeniable that they are really admirable, and everyone desires to be around them. They are sometimes mistaken to be arrogant or un-approachable due to their unique taste and exclusivity.
Work, Leisure, Functions, Religion & Culture have nothing on the Fashion Killers! They always emerge as the stars and never under perform in the Fashion Game!

The “Basic Gurus
Here we have the “Casual Dressers” who dress in a relaxed, everyday style. The “Informal Dressers” who priotize Confort and practically in their clothing choices. The “Everyday Attire Individuals” who always dress for regular daily activities. In general, people who dress normally might not have a specific label or category. They are simply individuals who dress in a way that’s comfortable and suitable for their daily lives. The don’t usually command attention but prefer to keep it basic and comfortable.

Where Do You Fall??
Well, some individuals end up falling in all the above groups, some two and others only one! But let’s get back to you! where do you fall?? Are you a “Fashion Extremist”, a “Fashion Killer” or a “Basic Guru”?? I’ll leave that question to you but let’s go back to our main gist!!

Do You Dress the Way You Wish to be Addressed???
This is something we normally ignore, and it all goes back to our personalities. I believe it’s the root of how we want or wish to be addressed. I believe that not everyone craves respect, admiration or even attention! Some individuals genuinely don’t care at all. They prefer going un-noticed, low-key is their style and the way everyone perceives them never matters!
And others pay keen attention to how society perceives them. Let’s break this down….

Do You Want Some Attention, Respect & Some Admiration?

Don’t shy away!! Let’s talk about it.
We at times tend to shy away from what we really want, and I think it’s because of the fear of “Being Too Much” But why have that fear yet it’s very okay to express who you are and what you want through your style? Let go of the fear and allow yourself experience commanding style. I think it’s better to be too much other than being less than what you want.
Well, whatever you’re desiring for, go for it … The sky cannot even be a limit to your potential the moment you start! Oh, what pleasure it will be seeing yourself inspire, command admiration & respect through your style.
But remember, the goal is to see a version of yourself that you truly admire and not to lose yourself trying to prove a point!!

Never lose Your Comfortability!!!
Whether your goal is to give an impression, go un-noticed or inspire, nothing should ever make you lose your comfort!! A s long as you are fine deep down, then the rest doesn’t matter!

Always Own Your Style: (Food for Soul)
The whole point of dressing the way you want to be addressed is to express your inner energy and to establish a way you want to be perceived always. Remember everyone can only see the outside and not the inside and you will only be addressed according to what is seen.
Style is part of identity therefore always portray what is inside of you and not what you saw elsewhere!!!

  1. I think I fall more in the “comfortability and practical” bit but it doesn’t limit me form challenging myself sometimes, dressing the way I want to express myself for the even or that day in particular…. My fashion slogan is “as long as I feel comfortable ,then I’m smart”
